Naomi Fiona Horsey is the mother of Nikki DeMarco, and she makes a desperate pact with Satan to save her daughter after a fall from a building nearly takes Nikki’s life. In exchange for Nikki’s safety, she promises that Nikki will one day bear Satan’s son, the Antichrist. The Devil grants Nikki a second chance, but at a terrible cost, and Naomi’s life ends soon after, leaving Nikki with a lingering awareness of the dark bargain that saved her.

Years pass, and Nikki grows into a successful photographer. She visits her mother as she lies on her deathbed, and Naomi’s last moments carry a chilling warning about the coming evil. When Nikki touches her mother’s crucifix, her hand is burned, a first clear sign that the bargain’s shadow never truly left Nikki’s life.

Nikki moves into a new apartment, still skeptical of faith and spirituality. Unbeknownst to her, the room she now calls home sits atop memories of a brutal murder that happened long ago, a dark history that begins to seep into her waking hours. Her skepticism deepens into isolation as strange, inexplicable things start to intrude into her life.

One night, after a heated argument at a bar, a coworker dies in a shocking accident as a car hits him, and Nikki is saved by a mysterious, handsome stranger. The next day, she learns that this stranger lives across the hall: a reserved theology professor who exerts a magnetic pull on her, drawing her into a fragile romance. As their bond deepens, a shadowy warning from a priest grows louder, even as the couple’s connection becomes more intimate and consuming.

A series of eerie events intensifies. A priest is hurled from a room high above a church chapel by an unseen gust of wind, and Nikki witnesses the terrifying display with growing dread. She seeks out Father Domenico, who senses something deeply abnormal at work. Curious and unsettled, Nikki attends a class taught by her mysterious lover, where he exposes a hidden cruelty by revealing a female student’s affair with a professor. This unsettling side of him unsettles Nikki and makes her question the true nature of his charm.

Soon, Rotha begins to stalk Nikki, and she digs into a journal once belonging to the dead priest. The records reveal a terrifying truth: Alexander Rotha is not what he seems, and Nikki suspects that he might be Satan himself. The shock of this discovery is compounded by the realization that she is pregnant with Rotha’s child, even though medical opinion had said she could not bear children after the earlier accident. Doctors call the pregnancy a medical miracle, a sign that something extraordinary and dangerous is unfolding.

Fear and hope clash as Nikki contemplates abortion, but a mysterious explosion devastates the hospital and kills everyone there, altering the course of her pregnancy and her life. She rededicates herself to her faith, seeking a way to protect herself and her unborn child, even as the pregnancy becomes a sacred battleground between light and darkness.

Labor arrives in Nikki’s own apartment, and she experiences a vision of Naomi making the fatal pact that altered her fate so long ago. She gives birth to a child who seems destined for a perilous future. At first, the birth fills Nikki with relief and joy, but the moment she sees the Devil’s emotionless gaze reflect back at her and hear him acknowledge his son, a cold certainty settles in.

A close friend—someone who has also made a deal with the Devil—appears, and Nikki is forced to act to safeguard her newborn. She knocks the friend out with a pan and flees toward the shelter of a church, believing baptism to be a powerful form of exorcism capable of cleansing their perilous bond with evil.

Inside the church, a violent wind funnels through the nave, even triggering an earthquake. But the priest proceeds with the baptism, and as the sacred rite unfolds, the wind subsides. Nikki exits the church carrying her child, stepping into a fragile dawn where hope and dread coexist. The Devil lingers nearby, watching with a stark, unreadable expression, before finally turning away.
