In Orense, Spain, in 1940 shortly after the Civil War, Elena and her children must hide a dangerous secret: Elena’s husband Ricardo is concealed in their home to escape the victorious forces’ ruthless political persecution. As the new regime hunts former opponents like wild animals, imprisoning or executing anyone linked to the lost struggle, the family lives in constant fear, protecting Ricardo while trying to survive.
