The Banana Man (1983): Cast

A solitary video piece that investigates character by contrast with the creator’s earlier character‑free performance work. Using the non‑linear nature of video, it probes psychological motivation through the imagined “Banana Man,” a minor figure from a childhood TV show the artist never actually saw. Relying solely on friends’ recollections, the work attempts to construct the fictional performer’s inner life, highlighting the challenge of building psychology for a character known only through second‑hand stories.
