An unnamed archivist The Archivist is entrusted with the safekeeping of humanity’s surviving store of art and knowledge. Stationed alone in a vast repository off the coast of an Arctic that remains largely ice-free, he sifts through archival footage from a time when humanity still believed it could avert catastrophe, trying to understand where things began to unravel.
