An investigation unfolds around a sharp-witted cop, Tinkori Haldar, who arrives at the home of a wealthy town businessman, Amarnath Mullick, just after his daughter Rinita’s engagement to Rajat. He breaks the news that Sandhya Mondal has taken her own life in Goabagan Bustee, and suddenly the atmosphere thickens with fear and suspicion. The Mullick household, along with Rinita’s fiancé and others present, insist they have no connection to Sandhya or her fate, insisting they knew nothing about her.

Yet a diary left behind by Sandhya turns the room cold with revelation. The pages allegedly name several people—Mullick, his wife, his son Arin, Rinita, and Rajat—suggesting that Sandhya was not a nameless outsider but someone they all knew under different identities. What begins as a routine inquiry quickly spirals into a web of personal histories. Each person in turn recounts how they first crossed paths with Sandhya and how, in various ways, they may have wronged her or contributed to the sense of injustice that shadows her memory. The diary appears to hold them all to account, and the film shifts through memories and confessions, letting the audience weigh guilt, responsibility, and the consequences of small/humble actions that accumulate over time.

After Tinkori Haldar departs, a startling twist unsettles the house: there is nothing written in the diary, and there is no officer by that name at Padmapukur Thana. Yet soon they receive a call from the local thana confirming that Sandhya Mondal did indeed commit suicide at Goabagan Bustee, and that their names have been found in her diary. A cop is on the way to interrogate them, and the question remains: who is actually Tinkori Haldar? Arin, who once loved Sandhya, suggests that it is their conscience that has visited them to unveil their true faces and the realities of life they had tried to bury. The film uses this core mystery to probe how guilt, memory, and social pretenses shape people’s choices and reveal the fragility of reputations.
