What Is Taking Off About?
The premise of Taking Off without spoilers.
Romain, a driven young man in his thirties, focuses entirely on his career and struggles to express his emotions, particularly when it comes to women. His older brother, Luc, a screenwriter and homosexual, frequently teases him, though their relationship is more complex than it appears. When their father is diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease and requires specialized care, the brothers are forced to confront their feelings and their dynamic. This challenging experience ultimately leads Romain to a deeper understanding of himself and what it means to be a man.
