Sivayya, an innocent orphan whose brain injury leaves him with limited intellectual capacity, lives in a quiet village with his devoted grandmother. His world is simple, peaceful, and defined by the rhythms of the countryside, where care and community often shape the days more than ambition or noise.

In the same village, Lalitha is a young widow raising her five-year-old son. She endures regular mistreatment from her sister-in-law, and with nowhere else to go, she remains in a fragile situation that tests her resilience. Sivayya, who frequently encounters Lalitha, is moved and troubled by her harsh circumstances, yet his gentle nature compels him to see the humanity behind her hardships.

During the festive swirl of the Sri Rama Navami celebrations, Sivayya makes a radical and unexpected choice: he marries Lalitha. The news shocks the villagers. His grandmother, who has long shown sympathy and a quiet respect for Lalitha, supports the union, while Sivayya’s uncle and many orthodox villagers view the remarriage of a widow as a sin. The dispute escalates, and in the turmoil, Sivayya’s grandmother dies, leaving the young couple to face a world that seems determined to keep them apart.

With her brother’s blessing, Lalitha moves into Sivayya’s home, and a new chapter begins. A handful of villagers rally to help them establish a life together, and Lalitha becomes a steady anchor for Sivayya, guiding him through the routine duties of running a household. He finds work, contributes to the family, and together they nurture Lalitha’s son, slowly building a sense of belonging and shared responsibility.

Time passes, and happiness deepens as the couple welcomes a son of their own. The family endures the ordinary joys and trials of daily life, growing closer as the village gradually accepts their unconventional family. Yet sorrow also threads through their story: Lalitha falls ill, and she dies in Sivayya’s arms, leaving behind a legacy of love that transformed a village outsider into a devoted family man.

In the poignant final image, Sivayya steps out of his home, surrounded by his children and grandchildren, carrying a tulsi plant—a living memory of Lalitha’s love and the life they built together. The scene lingers on the quiet strength of a man who found purpose through his devotion, and on the enduring bond that can emerge when compassion bridges the gap between worlds that seem destined to keep people apart.
