Kenta Kurihara (Tasuku Nagaoka) lands in prison for assault and is labeled the “newcomer” by his cellmates. Disappointed by the bland prison fare, he watches the other inmates freely take his portions. On Lunar New Year the facility serves traditional Osechi‑Ryori, and the prisoners revive their yearly ritual: a competitive game where they swap the most cherished dishes from their memories. Shunsuke Aida (Motoki Ochiai) kicks off the contest by recalling a beloved dish his mother prepared.
