In this intimate, twisty drama set against the backdrop of college life and quiet Midwestern streets, the film opens with a reflective voiceover by a character named Alec, musing on the question, “Why do we make the decisions we make?” The opening frames quickly pull us back to a year earlier in Eugene, Oregon, where four friends are about to say goodbye to campus life. In the Administration and Records Office, Alec wrestles with a credit missing from his transcript.
