Spring Forward 2000

Spring Forward narrates the evolving friendship between two distinct individuals, Murphy and Paul, who are employed by the parks department in a charming New England town. Paul, a short-tempered ex-convict fresh out of prison for armed robbery, seeks spiritual solace and a chance at redemption. On his inaugural day in parks maintenance, he finds himself teamed up with Murphy, a seasoned groundskeeper grappling with the realities of aging and the prospect of retirement.

Their first encounter is tumultuous; Paul gets into a heated argument with a patronizing local business heir over a materials donation. In a fit of anger, he declares his intention to quit and storms off into the woods, chastising himself for his perpetual blunders. However, Murphy, ever the wise mentor, follows him, managing to calm Paul down and urging him to return.
