Sonia Almarcha portrays Adela, a young woman who has just separated from her husband and is caring for a one-year-old baby. Tired of life in her small hometown of León, she leaves behind the mountains and rural rhythms to chase a new start in Madrid. She lands a job as a hostess and moves into an apartment with a friendly, young couple: Lluís Xavier Villanueva as Carlos and Miriam Correa as Inés. The three quickly form a bond, sharing meals, doubts, and moments of leisure that help Adela feel part of a bigger urban world, even as she still carries the quiet ache of separation.

Petra Martínez as Antonia, Inés’s mother, runs a small neighborhood supermarket and leads a fairly quiet life with her boyfriend Jesús Cracio as Manolo. She has two more daughters, Nieves and Helena, the elder: Nuria Mencía as Nieves and María Bazán as Helena. A cancer diagnosis for Nieves arrives, setting a heavy tone over the family dynamics and forcing choices that test their loyalties. Back in Madrid, Adela’s adjustment to city life seems smooth at first, even though the baby’s father provides little financial support. Then a life-altering moment arrives when, on a bus ride, she becomes a victim of a terrorist attack. The event shatters her sense of safety and forces her to confront a long, painful path to recovery. As she grapples with the physical and emotional trauma, she must summon inner strength, rebuild routines, and search for a path toward a new sense of normalcy, balancing hope with the realities of the upheaval that follows.
