After fifteen years apart, the four siblings gather to care for their mother, who has only weeks to live. The American sister arrives with two children; the divorced sister with her child and a secret man; the youngest, an unmarried nurse, fears her ticking biological clock; the brother contends with their distant father. Determined to honor her final wishes—returning to a cherished beach, seeing her youngest married, traveling to Paris, being embalmed and receiving a 21‑gun salute—the family sets out to fulfill them before she passes.
