He served as a confessor to Queen Isabella II of Spain and was declared a saint in 1950. Claret founded the religious congregation of the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, also known as the Claretians, dedicated to spreading the Catholic faith. His life was one of dedication to both the church and the people he served.
