Sione’s 2: Unfinished Business 2012

Five years after the wedding chaos, the Duckrockers thought they had it all figured out. They had found girlfriends to take to Sione’s wedding, and the future looked bright: Michael had come to accept that commitment wasn’t for him and he was always going to fancy white girls; Albert had finally hooked up with his coworker Tania; Stanley had managed to find himself a nice girl among the catering staff from the wedding; and Sefa had even found the courage to propose to his long-term girlfriend, Leilani. And Bolo? Well, apparently his name is actually Paul.

Fast-forward five years and life hasn’t gone exactly as their younger selves might have hoped: Albert is now married to Tania and they live in suburbia, both working in insurance and trying (unsuccessfully) to have a baby; Sefa and Leilani remain together and have two kids, though despite Sefa’s proposal they aren’t married yet; Stanley has become a trainee Deacon in the Future Church; Michael has moved to Australia and the group doesn’t hear from him often; and Bolo has left his job with Sefa to work with Sione, Michael’s younger brother. Growing up seems to be pulling the friends in different directions, yet a sudden turn of events changes everything and pulls them back together.

When Bolo goes missing, their Minister steps in to guide them back to their roots and to a common purpose: they must search for Bolo, a task that begins in the world’s largest Polynesian city and tests the limits of their loyalty, patience, and humor. The quest becomes as much about rediscovering their bond as it is about locating their missing friend, and each of the Duckrockers is forced to confront personal truths as they move through a landscape of familiar streets and unfamiliar challenges.

On the road, their journey unfolds as a series of imperfect plans, awkward missteps, and shared memories that remind them why they started this friendship in the first place. The group’s dynamic—rough edges, good hearts, and stubborn camaraderie—drives them forward even when mistakes multiply and the path forward looks unclear. Through laughter, frustration, and moments of genuine care, they navigate the trials of adulthood while clinging to the brotherhood that has always defined them. In the end, the search for Bolo becomes a test not just of perseverance, but of what it means to grow up together, even as life tries to pull the threads of friendship apart.
