What Is Simshar About?
The premise of Simshar without spoilers.
Young Theo embarks on his first voyage with his Maltese family's fishing boat, but disaster strikes when the 'Simshar' sinks, leaving the crew adrift in the Mediterranean. Simultaneously, a medic named Alex is assigned to a Turkish merchant vessel that has rescued African migrants between Malta and Italy. Caught in a dispute over responsibility for the refugees, Alex becomes stranded on the ship as countries clash over who will accept them. The narratives unfold in parallel, ultimately converging in a tragic event where the fishermen are located, but only one survivor remains.
