Billy Grant, a police officer, is called to handle a noise complaint at a local party. He goes in with his partner, Spinelli, and they encounter two troublemakers. When Billy tries to defuse the situation, one thug assaults him. Billy uses his unarmed skills to stop the attack, but when the thug falls, his head crashes into the stairs. The other assailant panics and shouts a chilling accusation.
You killed my brother, pig!
Spinelli moves in to arrest the aggressor while Billy tries to revive the fallen man, but it is too late. The incident weighs heavily on Billy, and guilt leads him to resign from the police force.
