Mandook and Ramesh steal a bag filled with guns and bombs from a local train, a risky endeavor that leads them to contact Tipu Bhaiya ([Amit Mistry]), a politician who tries to facilitate the sale. Tipu wants to verify whether the bombs are real and functional, displaying the dangerous and unpredictable dealings of city crime.

Abhay ([Sendhil Ramamurthy]), an NRI returning to India to start his own business, encounters the informal and often chaotic workings of Indian society. He meets Shalmili ([Preeti Desai]) at a nightclub and is perplexed by the unfamiliar way things operate — such as how labor is improvised on the spot and how strangers quickly involve themselves in daily affairs. Abhay soon faces threats from the local mafia, who approach him for protection money, which he initially dismisses but later discovers is a common and dangerous reality. When they begin to stalk and harass him and Shalmili, he resorts to approaching the police and ultimately pays the mafia a hefty sum to escape the harassment.

Sawan ([Sundeep Kishan]) is a young cricketer aspiring to join the under-22 Mumbai team. His journey is marred by the pressure to succeed, as a local selector demands a Rs 10 lakh bribe within a week. Lacking the funds and unable to secure a loan, Sawan turns to Tipu Bhaiya, who refuses to lend him money. Out of desperation, Sawan hatches a plan to rob a bank, enlisting Tipu’s help. His story highlights the intense struggles and moral dilemmas faced by young people trying to achieve their dreams in such a tumultuous city.

As the characters’ stories unfold during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, their lives become increasingly intertwined. The film spans themes of chance, hope versus despair, and self-actualization, all set against the vibrant and chaotic backdrop of Mumbai’s busy streets and cultural festivities. It opens with the song Karma is a b**h*, encapsulating the central theme that the characters’ actions, whether good or bad, have consequences they must face.

A pivotal moment occurs when Tilak and his friends attempt to test a bomb outside the city. They set the timer and hide, but a child picks up the bomb and runs, leading to a disastrous explosion that injures the boy—severing his leg. Tilak, who wanted to help the child, is pulled away by his friends to avoid police suspicion, deepening his remorse. Throughout the story, the underworld and political corruption play significant roles. Mandook and Ramesh deal with mafia goons trying to buy their guns, with Mandook even stealing bullets. Abhay, taking matters into his own hands, begins tracking the mafia and manages to buy guns and bullets through local vendors, ultimately turning the tables on the criminals.

The film reaches a climax with a bank robbery orchestrated by Tipu, involving Tilak, Mandook, Ramesh, and Sawan. When things go wrong—such as the bank manager calling the police and Mandook accidentally shooting Tilak—chaos ensues. Mandook and Ramesh abandon the stolen money, believing Tilak is dead, while Sawan calmly walks away with the cash.
