Shards of Moon 2023

Inspired by a composition from French composer Evgueni Galperine, Chinese filmmaker Bi Gan created this visually striking short film. Part of the 2x25 Project, a collaboration with Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Awards, the project paired composers with filmmakers. Twenty-five composers wrote original pieces, and twenty-five filmmakers then crafted short films, resulting in a unique blend of music and cinema. The film is a poetic exploration, reminiscent of early phantom rides, where the music deeply influenced the film's form and overall aesthetic.
