In November 1918, just days before the Armistice, Lieutenant Pradelle orders a disastrous and unnecessary attack. The incident unexpectedly connects the lives of two soldiers, Édouard and Albert, who initially have little in common beyond the battlefield. Édouard bravely saves Albert, though at a significant personal cost. The pair then become companions, struggling to navigate and survive in a world irrevocably changed by war. Even Lieutenant Pradelle finds himself attempting to adapt to the new reality.
