When Mammy Two-Shoes leaves for her Saturday night bridge club, Tom rushes to the window to signal his three alley-cat friends—Butch, Topsy, and Lightning—that it’s ok for the party. They arrive with a loud session of jazz music that fills the room, turning the quiet evening into a noisy carnival and shaking the walls with rhythm.

Jerry, trying to sleep, is disturbed by the racket and voices his complaints, only to find Tom largely nonchalant about the uproar. In an effort to keep the party going, Jerry attempts to disrupt the noise by tearing the tonearm off the phonograph, shoving Topsy into a drawer, and slamming the piano lid down on Butch’s hands. The four cats chase Jerry back to his mouse hole, but they decide that they won’t let him derail the fun, so they crank the music back up to lure him out again.

Jerry takes the bait, and the chase resumes as the cats close in. Tom eventually corners him and ties him up with a windowsill string, delivering a temporary pause to the chase. Yet Jerry wastes no time and manages to grab the telephone, calling Mammy to report the ongoing party. Mammy races back home and confronts the intruding cats with a stern, immediate resolve.

The cats make a desperate scramble to escape, but Mammy Seizes control, grabs Tom by the tail, and, with a decisive shove, throws all four out the front door. Back inside, she vents about how the cats ruined her entire evening, dismantling the party’s momentum. Seeking a moment of relaxation, she then plays the same jazz recording the cats had been blasting, turning Jerry’s brief sense of contentment to sudden dismay and leaving him no better off than before.
