Aravindan Biju Menon and Priya Lakshmi Priyaa are a couple trying to navigate a rigid education system to secure a slot for their son Manu Kristian Varkichan. Aravindan runs a small medical shop, while Priya works as a senior accountant at a private firm, and they share a modest flat. Priya hopes Manu will grow up attending an English-speaking school, so they hire an English tutor to help him prepare for a critical school interview.

After months of attempts, they finally land an appointment for an interview at Holy Saints English medium school, arranged with the help of Kumaran Sunil Sukhada, who runs a tailoring unit and is known for facilitating admissions by collecting fees from parents. On the day of the interview, the school panel grills Aravindan and needles at his limited English, and Manu is rejected outright, leaving the family with crushed expectations.

Stunned but not defeated, they hear about a career guidance center that works with both children and parents. Deepika Suhasini Maniratnam, who heads the English orientation program, steps in as a steadying influence. Through her guidance, Manu begins to improve his English, and the family gains new hope. He earns a chance to interview at St. Antony’s School, but the visit again falls flat when Manu cannot articulate himself in English under exam pressure. The family leaves worried that the opportunity might slip away, and they turn back to Deepika for counsel.

Deepika helps them reassess expectations and emphasizes a philosophy that parents should allow their children to be who they are, rather than turning their lives into a race for success. She stresses the importance of family bonds and education as values in themselves, not just as a path to a career. Inspired by her message, the parents continue to support Manu’s growth rather than pressuring him.

Returning home, the couple faces a new, urgent shock: Manu is missing. A village-wide search ensues, and they scour every corner of their flat and building. The tension peaks when they finally find Manu waiting on the terrace, calm and resolute. Aravindan rushes to Priya and reveals the good news: Manu has been admitted to St. Antony’s School, a resolution that suggests not only a victory for their son but a shift in the family’s understanding of education, language, and aspiration.
