The film opens on the set of an upcoming movie featuring Sudheer, Suresh Krishna, a notorious womanizer. During a tense moment on location, he pushes Yamuna, the actress played by Sarayu Mohan, into a waterfall. Yamuna is saved by the art director Vyshakh, who is also her lover, Bala. Vyshakh confronts Sudheer, and Yamuna, overwhelmed by the confrontation, commits suicide by leaping into the same waterfall after Vyshakh berates her. The tragedy leaves Vyshakh deeply scarred and drives him toward drugs, a descent that colors the rest of the story with grief and turmoil.

Soon afterward, Vyshakh receives a notice about an upcoming project named Yakshiambalam from his friend Raghupathy, Jagathy Sreekumar, who tells him that a director is seeking his aid. He agrees to help and travels to a Mana, seeking a location for the shoot. There, he reaches out to Dr. Vrinda, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, who knows the haunted history surrounding the house. He then meets the house’s owner and his wife, Sridevi, Sandhya, and they consent to permit the filming. However, a fight between rival parties drives Vyshakh to flee the house amid the conflict.

One morning, the driver for Dr. Vrinda contacts Vyshakh with a warning: he claims to have seen the house owner and his wife, but the claim is dismissed as unreliable. Vyshakh returns to the same site only to discover the house does not exist anymore; the place is revealed to be haunted. He visits again at night and sketches portraits of the people he met there. As he completes the drawings, the figures come to life in spectral form, haunting him, though he manages to escape after hearing a woman’s voice.

When Yakshiambalam begins filming at the same location, a debutante actress named Supriya is cast, Sandhya. Vyshakh immediately suspects that Supriya is a doppelgänger of the girl he lost, convinced that if she acts in this movie, she might meet a deadly fate. Tensions with Sudheer flare up again due to past grievances, and later that night Sudheer attempts to assault Supriya. Supriya deflects him, but a masked assailant kills Sudheer, leaving Supriya unconscious.

At the hospital, Supriya regains consciousness and a police witness report is filed. The authorities arrive at the shooting location to arrest Vyshakh on suspicion, but his drug-influenced state leads to a violent clash with the police and bystanders. SP Vishnu Sahasranamam, IPS, Suresh Gopi, takes charge of the investigation into Sudheer’s murder. He arrives on the scene, arrests Vyshakh, and Vyshakh is admitted to the mental ward of City Hospital.

Sudheer’s father, Home Minister Sreekanthan, Madhu, vows revenge and orders the authorities to secure a death penalty for Vyshakh. Vyshakh’s behavior grows increasingly dangerous at the hospital, and he even challenges Vishnu Sahasranamam; the officer administers a shock treatment to subdue him. Vishnu then leads a dedicated investigation, aided by Circle Inspector Ameer, Kiran Raj, and Sub Inspector Joy, Niyaz Musaliyar. The remainder of the film follows Vishnu as he pieces together the true culprit behind Sudheer’s death and unravels the mysteries surrounding the mansion that has become the shooting location, all while the line between art, haunting, and reality grows increasingly blurred.
