Dr. Gayatri Singh is an Indian American paranormal researcher at the University of California, exploring esoteric practices such as voodoo, spirit possession, magic, and healing powers. She pursues hidden knowledge that cannot be explained by science or logic, driven by curiosity and a desire to understand the limits of the mind and body.

Her quest leads her and her science team to India, where she encounters Varun Bhushan, a man who claims to possess remarkable intuitive and healing abilities developed through meditation. He blends Indian philosophy with a modern, urban sensibility, excels in martial arts, and is a devoted follower of Hanuman. By day he trains and by night he works as a bouncer at a club. Gayatri is immediately impressed by Varun’s power to alleviate pain and cure disease, and he becomes the central subject of her study.

As their work progresses, Varun senses the emergence of a hidden dark power tied to Ravana’s Rudraksha — a seed rumored to be far more than a simple relic. This is no ordinary object; it is said to carry the potential to transmute humans into new species, granting unimaginable powers to its bearer. In the researchers’ terms, it resembles a multi-dimensional hologram in seed form, a concept that challenges conventional science. At the same time, Bhuria begins to communicate with Varun on a mental plane, seeking to merge their abilities since neither can fully unleash the Rudraksha’s power alone. Varun resists, but Bhuria presses on, intent on joining forces and bending Varun to his will.

Gayatri discovers a set of strange words that alter people when spoken. She tests the effects on a rat and witnesses startling mutations and shifts in the creature’s physiology. Their research takes a dangerous turn when Suzy, Gayatri’s assistant, hears the words directly, becomes possessed, and falls under Bhuria’s influence. Suzy attempts to kill Gayatri, but Varun intervenes, and Suzy dies while trying to escape.

Together, Varun and Gayatri press onward to uncover the Rudraksha’s truth, Bhuria’s real motives, and the path that may unlock Varun’s destiny. Their perilous journey takes them from the rugged terrains of the Himalayas to the mysterious ruins of the legendary Ravana’s palaces in Yala, Sri Lanka, a backdrop that tests their resolve and reveals unsettling revelations about power and control.

In the climactic chapters, Varun learns how Bhuria — a poor yet wild and stubborn labor contractor in the Rudraksha excavation crew — has transformed into a formidable Rakshasha with supernatural abilities. The enigmatic words he uttered turn out to be an ancient Rakshasha mantra, and Bhuria’s aim becomes clear: to wield the Rudraksha and the mantra to spread evil and hatred, effectively seeking to restore the rule of rakshashas once more.

What follows is a timeless struggle between good and evil, where the fear-maker monsters are always unwelcome, and the fate of many lives hangs in a delicate balance between science, superstition, and the human will to resist darkness.
