Two best friends, Madhu and Sadguna Rao, live as tenants in their manager Iravatham’s house. Nearby, two undergrad friends, Keertana and Vindhya, share a hostel and drift toward different paths of love. Madhu is a playful prankster who loves puzzles, and a lighthearted encounter with Keertana sparks a sweet romance between them.
Iravatham’s wife Lalitha is a musical soul with a talent for cooking calamities, and her booming songs and eccentric meals test his patience as he longs for a calmer home. He dreams of harmony at home, but Lalitha’s exuberant artistry keeps tossing him back into comic chaos.
Keertana’s maternal uncle Dattatreya arrives and sends her off to help her ailing paternal uncle Sarvanandam, while Vindhya’s life twists under a dying aunt’s wish that binds her to Venkatasivam, the neighbor’s son. The couple is pulled away from their familiar world, forced to navigate new expectations and loyalties, and the village begins to tighten its social fabric around their fates.
Stunningly, Venkatasivam is none other than Madhu in disguise, a revelation that rattles the arrangements and stirs old tensions between the two who once drifted apart. They must whet their courage and plead with their mates to move forward under these surprising new circumstances. Since Madhu and Keertana left the village years ago, only Dattatreya recognises their true identities, a fact that complicates trust and alliance as the plot unfolds. Sadguna Rao and Vindhya arrive as would-be rivals, yet a growing warmth underneath hints at an unlikely pairing.
Iravatham consults Dr. Pattabhiram, a hypnotist, hoping to calm Lalitha’s exuberance, but money—and pride—stand in the way of any easy solution. Meanwhile, Sarvanandam arranges Sadguna Rao & Vindhya’s first night, and the fear of entrapment drives the couple to desperate attempts to escape; Tikamaka, a loyal acolyte, ensures their fates are sealed. Dattatreya’s return from a tour, puzzled by Madhu’s presence in two places at once, pushes him to inform his father, while Anirudh arrives with an awareness of the tangled web and Girisam, an ally of Sarvanandam, spots Vindhya’s stage edge.
The gathering culminates at Sarvanandam’s residence on the wedding night, where the truth begins to surface: Sadguna Rao and Vindhya confess their genuine feelings, and the looming identities threaten to derail the ceremonies. With Madhu seeking Iravatham’s aid, a plan is set in motion to salvage the situation and arrange the marriages of Madhu with Keertana. In the final turn, Dattatreya reveals the core truth—that Madhu and Keertana were always meant for each other—and Anirudh blesses Sadguna Rao & Vindhya’s union. The film ends on a high, comic note as Pattabhiram seemingly restores Lalitha to her former state and Iravatham, ever the skeptic, peels off once again, leaving a lingering sense of playful resolution.
