Rani Maa (Reena Roy) vows revenge after the neighboring kingdom’s treacherous prime minister, Man Singh (Naseeruddin Shah), murders her husband and blames the king, father of Princess Vishaka (Madhuri Dixit). Man Singh’s naive twin, Surjan Singh, adds confusion. When Rani Maa learns her son Rajkumar (Anil Kapoor) loves the princess, she opposes the union, while Rajkumar fights to win her hand, forcing mother and son to weigh love against a legacy of murder.
