In January 1972, at a South Korean base in Nha Trang, Vietnam, a missing platoon sends a radio transmission from R-Point, a strategic island near Saigon. Lieutenant Choi Tae-in, Kam Woo-sung, is tasked with leading a small squad, including Sergeant Jin Chang-rok, Son Byung-ho, on a week-long mission to locate the vanished soldiers and return with a clean record for Choi, who has a history of insubordination. The promise of an early honorable discharge and a clear slate fuels their resolve as they push north toward the ominous outpost.

Upon arrival at R-Point, the group is ambushed by a Vietnamese woman and stumbles upon a corpse that has been left to decay for a week. The next day, a mysterious, deserted French Plantation materializes near their base, casting a surreal shadow over the already fraught mission. Corporal Joh Byung-hoon, Kim Byung-chul, becomes separated from the others and wanders into a confusing tableau of figures who do not seem to belong to his unit. When he finally rejoined his comrades, he insists he has seen the missing soldiers, but his teammates dismiss his claims as stress and fear unravel their grip on reality.

Later, while attempting to repair the radio, Corporal Byun Moon-Sub, Moon Young-dong, intercepts a transmission from a nearby French unit. A French army corporal named Jacques claims to have a twin brother named Paul, a detail that raises suspicion since their squad appears to be the only one present. That night, American soldiers arrive and warn the Koreans about supernatural forces haunting the plantation, specifically noting danger on the second floor and urging them not to touch anything.

As they try to keep their nerves steady, the group erupts into a radio dance party, only to hear terrified screams recorded on the airwaves. On the second day, they discover Private Jung’s hanging corpse, a chilling reminder of the mission’s grim stakes. Lieutenant Choi begins to experience vivid visions of the Viet Cong woman who ambushed their platoon, blurring the line between memory and haunting.

Sergeant Oh encounters the ghost of a fallen comrade and panics, accidentally triggering a booby trap that claims his life. The squad fractures into two groups on the fourth day, venturing into a crashed Huey helicopter where they find decomposed American bodies, confirming that the soldiers they had previously met were indeed ghosts. In a terrifying moment, Corporal Joh Byung-hoon mistakes Sergeant Mah for a specter and fires, killing him.

Returning to the plantation, they search for American supplies on the second floor but find it deserted, deepening the sense that R-Point is truly haunted. They radio for rescue, yet the earliest helicopter can only arrive at dawn the following day. Sergeant Jin Chang-rok, Son Byung-ho, seems to return at one point to warn against intruding, and beheads Sergeant Park, who is aided by the others in bringing him down before he can cause more harm. The tension escalates as Lieutenant Choi orders everyone to verify their identities to rule out possession or imposture.

Corporal Byun, seemingly possessed, is shot by Lieutenant Choi but not before he pulls the grenade’s pin, blinding Sergeant Jang Young-soo, Oh Tae-kyung. While the wounded man is treated, Corporal Joh Byung-hoon, also possessed, shoots Corporal Lee Jae-pil, forcing Choi to shoot Joh and end the immediate threat—leaving just Choi and Jang alive in the collapsing moment. In Jang’s pocket, they uncover a photo of French soldiers with the Viet Cong woman, revealing her central role in the deaths of the French garrison and the American soldiers who were stationed there.

Lieutenant Choi then instructs Sergeant Jang to aim his rifle at him and fire, anticipating possession as a final safeguard against losing control. The next morning, the rescue team finds Sergeant Jang alone, while the bodies of the other eight soldiers who had been with him disappear, and all bloodshed vanishes just as help arrives at the base.

At a completely abandoned outpost, a radio transmission from Lieutenant Choi crackles to life, pleading for reinforcements as they teeter on the edge of being killed in action and insist they are not dead, leaving viewers with a stark echo of the haunting at R-Point.
