Pedababu (2004): Cast & Plot

Pedababu, Jagapati Babu, is a revered arbiter in a quiet village, treated almost like a deity yet living in solitude away from his mother. He keeps a polite distance from Parvati, his mother who has remarried to Gangadharam, while Pedababu refuses to engage with her directly. Parvati and Gangadharam have two sons and a daughter named Geeta, who is in love with Bhaskar, the grandson of Pedababu’s devoted scribe, Raghavaiah, a man Pedababu holds in high regard. Geeta, Kaveri, is drawn to Bhaskar, and the romance becomes known to her brothers through Kanakaraju, the scheming figure who allies with Rudraraju to challenge Pedababu. The brothers confront Bhaskar when Pedababu seeks to broker a match, sparking a dispute over who possesses the authority to unite the lovers.
