The framing device of this horror anthology centers on Dr. Daniel Marcus, a chilling figure brought to life by Michael Ironside who has chosen to interview a series of patients whose supposed psychosis he believes stems from past trauma. He is allowed this access by Dr. Paul Victor, Jack Plotnick, and the pair set the stage for a carefully controlled, unsettling examination. Standing by to enforce Marcus’s orders are the two orderlies, Shane and Kyle, Drew Fonteiro and Rane Jameson, who move with clinical precision as the interviews unfold. The method is clinical on the surface, but the atmosphere is thick with menace as Marcus pushes past professional restraint to provoke fear.
