In the village of Ithirikkandam, Nirappel Mathai is a shrewd businessman and politician, and his son Nirappel Paappi share a close bond that drags them into all kinds of mischief, often alongside Paappi’s loyal aide Kuttappi. The Nirappel family is well regarded, yet they struggle to keep up the image of a prosperous household in the eyes of the village.

Paappi’s childhood sweetheart, Annie, teaches at the family school, but she never warmed to him. She became wary after an early humiliation when Paappi, who quit school in the ninth grade, reinforced an illiterate image around him. Maria and Mollykkutty, Paappi’s mother and sister, also wish for Annie to marry Paappi, hoping the alliance will solidify the family’s standing.

In town politics, Annie—backed by the inept yet envious Shashankan—defeats Paappi in the Panchayath election, seizing the presidency and leaving Paappi humiliated. The arrival of a rival businessman, Manikkunju, soon stirs trouble for both Mathai and the Nirappel enterprises, escalating the stakes for the entire community. Annie also receives a marriage proposal from Tony Issac, and a misunderstanding around the proceedings sets off a chain of tense confrontations.

A clash at a school function leads to a public confrontation between Paappi and Annie, intensifying the rift with Mathai, who slaps Paappi in the heat of the moment. A mysterious arson at the school further tests the family’s reputation, and Mathai disowns Paappi, convinced he is their culprit. Shashankan sees an opening to fragment the Nirappel alliance and sides with Mathai, seemingly pushing Paappi out of the picture. Paappi’s attempt to cripple Nirappel Finance through word-of-mouth rumors backfires when Mathai publicly reframes the blame, leaving Paappi to flee with his aide.

As the dust settles, Annie experiences remorse for the chaos she helped unleash, while Maria and Mollykkutty continue to root for Paappi. Mathai recovers and moves to block Paappi’s leverage by legal means, forcing a freeze on deals and prompting the sale of some assets—until Paappi intervenes by designating the land as archaeologically valuable, rendering it unsellable and buying time.

On a rain-soaked day, Annie crosses paths with Paappi outside a church; he clarifies that his earlier actions were born of agitation, not intent, and she begins to see him in a new light. Meanwhile, Manikkunju tries to rekindle a deal with Mathai, but the older man remains shrewd and wary of a trap. The village market, once buoyed by the two men, falters and the people turn to Annie for a solution.

Annie engineers a cooperative plan to help farmers and revive the market, sharing it with Dasan Maash, whose true identity is later revealed to be Sivadasa Kaimal. Dasan’s long-standing enmity with the Nirappels drives a plot to derail Annie and Paappi, including targeted violence and manipulation by Manikkunju. A dramatic confrontation ensues: Annie is kidnapped and Dasan’s network tries to strike at Shashankan, while Paappi arrives to rescue Annie and confront Dasan and his associates.

The truth about Dasan is laid bare: his father’s losses and the family fallout that spurred his vendetta against the Nirappels. Paappi learns that he once helped Dasan by offering him a teaching job, a gesture that haunts him as the plan unfolds. In the climactic moments, Shashankan seeks a final answer about loyalties; Paappi teeters between family and affection, and the moment of truth comes when Mathai’s interjection nudges the resolution toward Annie. The film closes on a note of reconciliation and happiness, with Annie’s presence signaling a new chapter for the pair.
