Thirty years prior, Switzerland was embroiled in a political scandal involving the surveillance of over 900,000 citizens. Micha Lewinsky's film explores this “secret files scandal” as it follows Viktor Schuler, a diligent police officer assigned to infiltrate the Schauspielhaus, a prestigious Zurich theatre. Tasked with monitoring the leftist artistic community, Viktor unexpectedly becomes drawn to the theater's lifestyle and falls for the captivating actress, Odile Lehmann.
