One Spoon of Chocolate 2026

Unique, Shameik Moore, a veteran who has just finished a stretch in upstate New York, returns to Karenville, Ohio to move in with his cousin Ramsee RJ Cyler Joneson and claim his half of the family home. He hopes for a quiet reentry, but quickly learns that freedom in this town comes with a heavy price, and what he finds is closer to a graveyard than a sanctuary.

The town is a “sundown” trap run by a racist sheriff, Michael Harney McLeoud, who operates a stomach-turning side business: selling the organs of Black men. His son, Harry Goodwins as Jimmy, is the muscle, leading a pack of lunatics who roam the streets at night with baseball bats. They hunt down anyone they catch alone, beginning with Unique’s other cousin Lonnie, whose disappearance rings as the first red flag. After the bats finish their grisly work, the town doctor steps in to harvest the “merchandise,” underscoring how deep the rot runs.

Unique tries to stay invisible for the sake of his family. He starts getting close to Darla, Paris Jackson, the best friend of Ramsee’s girlfriend, who promises him there’s a version of life that doesn’t involve looking over his shoulder. But that fragile peace shatters when the syndicate finally closes in on Ramsee, forcing Unique to face the town’s deadly machinery head-on.

With both of his cousins gone, Unique realizes he can’t file a report with a sheriff who’s holding the knife. Overhearing the sheriff disclose the town’s secret, Officer Beem, Blair Underwood, rushes to the small town to save them from a potential cascade of consequences. Unique taps back into his military training, shedding his urge to run and embracing a hunter’s mindset. He makes his way to Jimmy and his gang at the local town members-only clubhouse and turns the place into a slaughterhouse, slicing through the gang until only Jimmy remains, lurking in the dark.

Outside, the building is surrounded by the sheriff’s deputies and his P.O. The confrontation makes it clear: the sheriff isn’t there to arrest; he’s there to bury the evidence. Realizing he isn’t walking out alive, Unique resolves to finish the job on his own terms. A final shot rings out from inside, and the turn of events severs Jimmy from the board, letting the sheriff’s legacy die along with his own.
