O Colar de Coralina 2016

Inspired by Cora Coralina’s poem ‘O Prato Azul Pombinho’ (The Blue Pidgeon Plate), the story explores the childhood of Aninha, who would later become the celebrated poet and candy maker, Cora Coralina. A fragile and clumsy girl, Aninha finds solace and a way to overcome her challenges through the simple game of hopscotch and her vivid imagination, offering an escape from her surroundings. Her childhood, tinged with rejection, is later reflected in her life through a poignant connection to a blue pigeon dish, the last remaining piece of a once-extensive collection belonging to her great-grandmother Antônia.
