On November 30th, the anniversary of King Karl XII’s death, Stockholm’s Alby suburb sees clashes between hyper‑nationalist/neo‑Nazi demonstrators and democratic counter‑protests. The film adapts West Side Story to this setting: Adam, a neo‑Nazi, falls for Julia, a Peruvian political refugee. Their love drives Adam to leave his gang, but after Julia’s brother kills Adam’s best friend, Adam kills the brother. Police and both families pursue the couple, and both are ultimately murdered, leaving no reconciliation.
