In a Texas border town, Jack Bishop's seemingly perfect life as a husband and father is shattered when his daughter, Toby, disappears. Forced to confront a dark past he desperately tried to escape, Jack must embrace the mysterious powers of La Santa Muerte, figures who guard the souls of the damned. To rescue Toby, he must face malevolent forces and unravel the secrets that threaten to destroy everything he holds dear.

Jack Bishop appears to be living the ideal life that many men dream of—blessed with a stunning wife and a cheerful, healthy daughter named Toby. He has the gratifying career he always aspired to and a loving home nestled in a tranquil Texas border town. However, this seemingly perfect existence is meticulously constructed; lurking beneath the surface lies a haunting secret that Jack conceals not only from his family but also from himself.
When tragedy strikes and Toby goes missing, Jack realizes that his past has come back to haunt him, forcing him to confront the unsettling truths he has long buried. In his desperate quest to find her, he must rekindle his connection to La Santa Muerte, a figure representing the protectors of sinners and worshippers of the dead.
Joined by the inexperienced newly-appointed sheriff and a couple of cautious FBI agents, Jack’s search leads him down a treacherous path into his own history. He encounters a psychic who vividly illustrates Jack’s hidden secret, plunging him into a world filled with darkness and dread. This journey takes him from the desperate barrios to the seediest brothels within the shadowy underbelly of Mexico City.
Yet, the influence of La Santa Muerte proves to be more potent than he ever anticipated, reaching out to affect his family and unearthing an even more sinister web of lies and deceit than he could have imagined.
