Seok-tae, a drug addict and gangster, is found dead under suspicious circumstances, and the case instantly spirals into a web of loyalties, betrayals, and hidden agendas. His brother Min-tae, who has kept his distance from the criminal world, resumes the hunt to uncover who pulled the trigger, while Seok-tae’s wife Cha Moon-young and their child vanish, pushing the police to start a formal investigation as street tensions surge in the local underworld.

Prior to his death, Seok-tae ran a drug distribution operation tied to the son of a powerful CEO. When the son slips into a coma after taking narcotics allegedly supplied by Seok-tae, Chang-mo — Seok-tae’s boss and Min-tae’s former superior — bluntly warns Min-tae to stay out of it, hinting that influential interests are at play and that the truth may threaten far-reaching power.

As the investigation unfolds, suspicion gradually lands on Moon-young. It’s revealed that she endured years of domestic abuse at Seok-tae’s hands, and she harbors a complicated connection to the renowned novelist Kang Ho-ryeong. Kang’s novel, Nocturnal, presents events strikingly similar to Seok-tae’s death and was written before the crime occurred. Investigators learn that the story drew directly from Moon-young’s experiences, which intensifies the belief that she could have orchestrated the murder—an idea reinforced by the authorities and Min-tae as the case deepens.

Determined to locate Moon-young, Min-tae enlists Byung-gyu, a subordinate of Chang-mo, while Kang Ho-ryeong works to safeguard Moon-young. After a series of tense confrontations, Moon-young secretly reveals her location to Kang. The pursuit culminates at a bus terminal where Min-tae, Kang, Moon-young, and the police converge in a high-stakes showdown.

Before the truth fully surfaces, Byung-gyu shoots Moon-young and escapes, a move that enrages Min-tae. He discovers that the killing was ordered by Chang-mo, exposing him as the real mastermind behind Seok-tae’s murder. The night of the crime saw Seok-tae and the CEO’s son consuming large quantities of drugs; the CEO’s son falls into a coma, and Chang-mo executes Seok-tae to appease the powerful figure at the top of the criminal hierarchy.

The narrative also reveals that Moon-young was a direct witness to Seok-tae’s murder and had longed for his death after enduring years of abuse. Chang-mo had spared her only on the condition that she disappear permanently, a demand she ultimately accepts in the shadows of the case.

After Seok-tae’s funeral, Min-tae confronts Chang-mo in a brutal confrontation, wiping out his men and extracting a confession that confirms the gang’s subservience to corporate influence. In a decisive turn, Min-tae kills Chang-mo and walks away, leaving a stern message about accountability and the high cost of corruption.

The film features Amir Aghaei, Amir Aghaei in a pivotal role, alongside Amirhossein Fathi and Roshanak Gerami who bring depth to the drama’s tangled emotional core.
