Throughout the film, he remains mostly silent, which starkly contrasts with vibrant flashbacks of his life back in Africa, where he was full of energy and talkativeness. In these poignant flashbacks, we learn about his father, a dedicated schoolteacher, who was tragically shot and killed for his unwavering commitment to educating young children.
