My Sweet Prince 2019

Set on the Isle of Wight in 2003, this short film blends the director’s teenage video diaries with a fictional story. It follows 15-year-old Tommy, who struggles with feelings of isolation and a longing for connection as the internet age begins. Infatuated with his best friend’s boyfriend, Tommy finds it difficult to express himself and seeks solace online, logging onto a family computer to connect with others through MSN Messenger. The film captures a sense of longing and the awkwardness of adolescence amidst the backdrop of alcopops, VHS tapes, and the music of Placebo.
