May Ho, Sammi Cheng Sau-Man, inherits a vast fortune after her wealthy husband, Simon Yam as Ben, drowns in a Caribbean scuba-diving accident. May is a Stanford-educated professional who knows how to charm, but she also has a history of joking lies and half-claims that leave the truth unsettled. His mother and sister remain uneasy about her motives, especially since they felt she only knew him for seven days before the nuptials. Despite the sudden wealth, the house, and a stake in the family fashion company, May finds herself surrounded by a hollow glow of success that does little to fill the emptiness inside. As their nights and days bleed into each other, May and Ken drift through the realm of the supernatural, with May developing a real bond with her ghostly companion. Ken makes a best-effort to help her realize this wish before he moves on to the afterlife, crossing the Twilight Junction to be reincarnated.
