Elwood, an architect, Billy Crawford is preparing for his wedding to Rina Andi Eigenmann. Rina’s mother, Minerva Eugene Domingo, returns from London for the ceremony, while Elwood’s mother, Clara Maricel Soriano, has been doing odd jobs. The two families collide as Minerva and Clara clash over the past, revealing Clara’s affair with Minerva’s husband and the complicated history that binds them all.

To smooth things over, Rina hosts a bridal shower on a yacht, hoping the celebration might mend old wounds. A fierce storm cuts the trip short, leaving everyone stranded on a small island, where the tensions between the women flare anew even as the ship’s guests struggle to stay afloat. Yet amid the bickering, a quiet moment of care helps them find common ground: Clara comes to Minerva’s aid after she steps on a sea urchin, and the act of kindness rekindles a tenuous sense of family.

Meanwhile, Elwood and Rina search for their missing parents, a quest that takes a dark turn when they themselves are abducted by rebels. A swift military intervention rescues them, but the ordeal leaves Elwood blaming Rina, driving a wedge between the couple and driving them toward a breakup.

Weeks pass, and Minerva and Clara are found near SM Mall of Asia, returning home to a household heavy with funeral rites and unresolved grief. The wedding is called off, yet Minerva and Clara continue to press their children toward reconciliation, even as old resentments simmer beneath the surface. In a dramatic twist, Minerva hires actors to stage a kidnapping to force the ceremony forward, but the plan misfires: real kidnappers end up abducting Minerva and Clara instead.

The publicized abduction has an unexpected effect, drawing Elwood and Rina back together as they confront the danger and the consequences of the ruse. The captors eventually demand that Rina marry Elwood in exchange for their loved ones’ release. Law enforcement closes the case, and Minerva and Clara are saved; in the aftermath, Rina chooses to marry Elwood, restoring the couple’s future. With the crisis resolved, Minerva returns to London and urges Clara to keep in touch, hinting at the fragile, ongoing ties that will shape their families long after the wedding.
