Mist: The Tale of a Sheepdog Puppy (2006): Cast & Plot

On a foggy night in Devon, Gail, a working border collie, gives birth to a litter of three puppies in a barn on Borough Farm. As she rests with her newborns, her father, Sir Gregory, enters the scene, surprised by the tiny arrivals and the quiet courage of Gail. He names the third pup after the night itself, and the little girl becomes Mist, a moniker that feels as mysterious as the mist that framed her birth. The two other pups, Storm and Drift, are welcomed by all the other dogs—Swift, Ernie, and Jake—with broad smiles, while Fern, Mist’s aunt, keeps a wary distance and doesn’t seem to warm to the idea of puppies at all. Fern is clearly set apart by her mood, almost skeptical of the new brood.
