Mirai Sentai Timeranger vs GoGoFive 2001

In the 30th century, a time-travel ban is imposed after a paradox crisis, and the Time Protection Bureau (TPB) is formed to monitor and stop time crimes. Four new TPB cadets are lured by the mafia boss Don Dolnero Ryuuzaburou Ootomo into slipping through time to the year 2000 to commit a string of crimes, only to face a counter-mission: protect history by chasing their pursuers. The operation runs against a hard limit—the Timeranger program needs five members for the first mission—so the cadets reluctantly seek a fifth ally. To fill the void, they coerce a present-day martial artist, Tatsuya Asami Masaru Nagai, into joining, and the group formally becomes the Timerangers. Tatsuya then rents a building to serve as their base, and the four cadets set up a modest odd-jobs operation called Tomorrow Research to fund their unconventional activity and keep their days-to-day lives afloat in this foreign century.

As their adventures unfold, the Timerangers begin to grasp that their presence in the past could ripple forward to the future in unforeseen ways. This awareness sparks the emergence of a city-wide security force, the City Guardians, established under the Asami Corporation to shield the metropolis from the looming threat of the Londerz. The relationship between the Timerangers and the City Guardians becomes tense and teetering on a knife-edge, built on mutual need and cautious boundaries. The shifting dynamic tightens when Naoto Takizawa / Time Fire Shinji Kasahara rises from a college connection to the role of Time Fire, and later ascends to become the captain of the City Guardians, cementing a complex link between the time travelers and the city’s defenders.

The four cadets’ camaraderie is fueled by shared risks and a drive to rectify the chaos unleashed by the past, while the presence of the Timerangers quietly reshapes the trajectory of the city’s institutions and power structures.
