As their backstories unfold, we learn that Tommy is a devoted husband and father, while Mike grapples with the emotional weight of proposing to his girlfriend Jenny, played by Annabelle Wallis.

As they endure the harsh realities of the desert, fate intervenes when a sandstorm obscures their path. Tommy, ever the chatterbox, becomes the unsuspecting victim of a tragic accident after stepping on a hidden landmine. In a heart-wrenching scene, Mike struggles to comfort Tommy amidst chaos and enduring pain, eventually witnessing the devastating aftermath of Tommy’s overdose on morphine, which he administered in a moment of panic.
