Karthik, a bright MCA final-year student from a middle-class family, works part-time in a courier company to cover his expenses while chasing big ambitions. Anbu Selvi, from a rural landlord’s family in Trichy, is pursuing a B.Com and is known for her lively pranks and outgoing personality, traits that worry her father Rathnam, who fears she might bring disrepute to the family name and arranges her marriage to Karthik.

Both move forward with the arrangement despite initial resistance, agreeing to follow the elders’ plan for a while and to seek their own path only when they feel ready to stand on their own. Anbu Selvi is admitted to the same college as Karthik, and this proximity gradually makes her realize the importance of a good married life and the effort needed to win her husband’s affection. In the early days, Karthik remains elusive, focused on his own goals, but as the frames unfold, he too begins to understand what a stable, loving partnership could mean.

When he is about to declare his true feelings, a set of events pulls the couple apart. Yet their determination to unite remains strong, even as both fathers dig in their heels. After a sequence of dramatic moments, the lovers weather the opposition and come together in the end, forging a happy union built on mutual respect, patience, and a fresh sense of commitment.
