Mad as a Mars Hare 1963

From his Mars-based vantage point, Marvin the Martian [Mel Blanc] observes Earth through a telescope as a rocket lifts off. To his dismay, the rocket careens into his observatory, leaving him shaken but resilient. Submerged in the debris, a lone Bugs Bunny [Mel Blanc] emerges, having been unwittingly sent to Mars as an expendable astro-rabbit. Upon landing, Bugs symbolically claims Mars for Earth with a flag-bearing metal carrot, provoking Marvin’s vehement objection to relinquishing his planet.

Marvin’s initial attempt to erase Bugs with a disintegrating pistol backfires, bursting Marvin apart only to reassemble moments later, unfazed by the setback. Undeterred, he pulls a Time-Space Gun from the shade of his lab and fires, intending to send Bugs into the distant future as a subservient laborer. Instead, the contraption misfires, transforming Bugs into a formidable Neanderthal rabbit who easily overpowers Marvin. Defeated once again, Marvin retreats to regenerate, lamenting his perpetual struggle.

Bugs, unfazed by the ordeal, addresses the audience, musing about how Earth’s hunters will react when he returns, before nonchalantly munching on the metal carrot.
