Maasilamani, also known as Maasi, is an orphan living in a lower-middle-class neighborhood. He has a heart of gold and becomes a popular figure who speaks up for local issues, fights for justice, and earns a reputation as a rowdy, misunderstood protector. His life takes a dramatic turn when Divya, a vivacious dance instructor from a wealthy circle, captures his eye and he falls in love at first sight. Divya is charmed by his warmth but remains wary of his rough edges, especially after he disrupts a dance competition she oversees, an act that unsettles her and fuels doubts about his true nature.

Out of love and a desire to be accepted, Maasi adopts a polished persona under the alias “Mani” to win over Divya’s family. With everyone else believing in Mani’s refined manners, only Divya senses that Mani is Maasi. The truth seethes closer when she happens upon him in a moment of rage, forcing her to choose between the man she loves and the reality of who he is. The emotional tension tests her loyalties and her heart.

Meanwhile, Bhoopathy, the new local inspector who also has his eye on Divya, schemes to expose Maasi’s double life. He targets Maasi’s relatives and uses every trick to prove that Mani is Maasi, escalating troubles for everyone involved. The situation intensifies when Selvi, Maasi’s cousin, is injured in an accident caused by Bhoopathy, and she reveals the truth to Maasi and his mother. Despite Bhoopathy’s advances, Divya rejects his marriage proposal and decides that Mani is the man she wants to marry, reaffirming her commitment to Maasi.

The conflict comes to a head as Maasi confronts Bhoopathy for harassing his family. In a bold move, he stages a fake death to push Divya to confront her own feelings. The ruse works, and Divya comes to realize the depth of her love for Maasi. She acknowledges her earlier mistake, and the two lovers finally reunite, ready to face whatever comes next together.
