Aditya, Soham Chakraborty, comes from a middle-class family and has a degree in computer engineering. Yet the recession forces him to run a small car garage, the Biswakarma Garage, where he works as a skilled car mechanic. His mother, Tulika Basu, is eagerly waiting for the chance to see her son married. One day, as Aditya returns from the garage, a group of goons attacks him for no clear reason and breaks his leg. After being released from the nursing home, he tracks down the goons to learn who ordered the assault. They point to Sweety, Puja Banerjee, who explains that the attack was a mistake and that they were aiming at another man who was disturbing her. Aditya doesn’t accept this explanation and reminds Sweety that the incident disrupted his arranged marriage; she insults him, and he vows to take revenge, starting with forcing a union between them.
The following day, while Aditya is on his way home, Sweety strikes again with a hockey stick, beating him badly. He tries to intervene, and by chance Sweety hits the leg that had been hurt, and it heals. From that moment, Aditya confesses that he has fallen in love with Sweety and declares that she is “booked” from that day forward. Sweety is furious at this turn of events. Meanwhile, Sweety’s mother—an activist who campaigns for women’s rights—visits Aditya’s garage to fix her car, and she spots a poster for a movie that uses a provocative image of a couple. She urges the media to ban the film and closes the garage for displaying such material. Aditya argues with Sweety’s mother, insisting that the film isn’t as abusive as claimed and that she may be overreacting. This inflames Sweety’s mother, who takes the matter to her husband and even asks for a pistol from her father to murder Aditya. Sweety arrives at the garage with a pistol and starts shooting at Aditya. He escapes, captures Sweety, and binds her with rope. The police arrest Aditya on a charge of insulting Sweety, and they beat him, but an advocate helps secure his release. Sweety’s father, Shantimoy Mukherjee, guardedly warns Aditya’s father to keep Aditya away, while Aditya continues to pursue Sweety.
In time, Aditya spots Sweety running with a man in pursuit and misunderstands the situation, thinking she is being abused again. He and the pursuer grab Sweety and bring her to a quiet place, where Aditya learns that the man was actually insulting Sweety’s character. Realizing the truth, Aditya defeats the man who had insulted her, and Sweety begins to see his protective side. She finally accepts his love and proposes to him.
Shantimoy confronts Sweety about her relationship with Aditya, and she refuses to listen. He makes Aditya an offer: if Aditya can earn 10% of Shantimoy’s earnings, Sweety will marry him. Aditya declines and instead vows to ruin Shantimoy physically and financially within six months. Sweety supports him in this plan. As Aditya investigates Shantimoy’s wealth, he uncovers substantial property and a hidden family. He exposes Shantimoy’s secret wife and their child, who arrives in Shantimoy’s house and speaks to the media, badly damaging Shantimoy’s reputation. With this leverage, Aditya brings Shantimoy’s assistant and a Swiss bank client into his fold, pushing Shantimoy to give away 300 million to buy the Victoria Memorial and construct a casino, with help from the Chief-Minister, Kaka, Dipankar Dey. However, the Chief Minister ends up giving only a small amount, and a haunted old house, the Victoria Palace, is sold to Shantimoy. The rest of the money is split between the Swiss bank client and the money kept in Aditya’s garage. Shantimoy loses his grip on his properties, and most of his land is taken; the remaining property near the airport is transformed into a temple. Shantimoy suffers a heart attack, and Sweety grows worried and asks Aditya to stop, but he refuses. Sweety momentarily resents him, then remains by his side.
Shantimoy then enlists a notorious goon and fisherman, Karthis Das a.k.a. Mechho Karthik, to kill Aditya and recover the wealth, offering Sweety’s hand in marriage as the price. Sweety rejects this arrangement, but Shantimoy presses on. Mechho Karthik’s plan to wreck Aditya’s temple is thwarted when Aditya’s friends film the act and hand the footage to the police, leading to Karthik’s arrest for vandalism. Shantimoy is later arrested for running a fraudulent chit fund. Karthik is released from jail and resolves to kill Aditya and win Sweety. Sweety informs Aditya of the threat, and he reassures her safety, using his wits to outsmart Karthik and beat him in a confrontation.
The film closes with Shantimoy’s release from prison, and Aditya explaining that all his wealth and power had been a staged game to teach his rival a lesson. The families of Shantimoy and Aditya come together, and in the end, Aditya and Sweety are married, marking a blended reconciliation of pride, wealth, and love.
