Sandrine, Carole Brana, a young and childless woman, sits with a friend for a casual lunch on a park bench. On the bench sits an old man, Etienne Chicot, who tries to start a conversation. The friend grows annoyed and leaves, but Sandrine stays curious as the old man’s remarks plant the seed of independence, an idea that will challenge her routine. Soon after, she asserts herself with her boyfriend, who leaves her, and she decides to quit her dull job, embracing a path that feels uncertain but newly hers.
