During a civil war in Quebec, Valerie survives a tragic mass execution that claims the life of her boyfriend. Years later, she finds love again with Gabriel and works as an orderly at a Long Term Care Center. There, she develops a close bond with Jeanne, a witty and intelligent woman facing physical challenges. The film explores themes of survival, grief, the passage of time, the strength of love, and the simple joy of living, blending realistic moments with touches of unsettling strangeness.
