On the pivotal day of September 24, 2021, Amy Carr, portrayed by Naomi Watts, is still grappling with her recent tragedy and decides to take a personal day off from work. As she watches her daughter, Emily, board the school bus, she also notices her teenage son, Noah, who feigns illness and remains in bed.
