Kunjidhapadam leaves his small-town life to chase an interview in the city, where a chance stay with his distant relative Subramanyam gives him a foothold. Subramanyam is a defaulter who has vanished after shady loans, and he even leaves a key behind in a secret place. Kunjidhapadam pockets the key, moves in, and quickly lands a job, starting a fresh chapter in a place that feels both unfamiliar and hopeful. The city hums with noise and opportunity, but danger lingers in the shadows of the arrangements around him.
Across town, an orphan named Angel grows up amid uncertainty, eking out a living at a mineral water company and sleeping wherever a vacant house happens to be free for the night. One such night she stumbles into Kunjidhapadam’s new home, and their paths become unexpectedly linked as both navigate the rough edges of urban life. Her presence adds a fragile warmth to his otherwise practical ascent, and soon the pair’s fates begin to intertwine in earnest.
Meanwhile, two rival dons, Pavadai and Vembuli, run a ferocious counterpoint to the city’s quiet striving. Their feud turns violent when Vembuli murders Pavadai’s son, setting off a blood oath where Pavadai vows to kill Vembuli’s son by the twelfth day of his child’s life. The stakes escalate quickly, pulling innocent people into the crossfire and turning the city into a maze of threats and temptations.
A cruel twist of misrecognition drags Kunjidhapadam deeper into danger. Pavadai’s henchmen mistake him for Subramanyam and drag him into a high-stakes scheme involving money and murder. He proposes a ruthless plan to assassinate Vembuli’s son and receives a harsh 16-day deadline, with Pavadai promising dire consequences if he fails. When Vembuli learns of this plan, he tries to strike first, but Kunjidhapadam survives the attack and resumes his precarious balance between fear and resolve.
Seeking a way to repay Pavadai and clear the debt, Kunjidhapadam reconnects with Angel, aiming to fetch money. Subramanyam’s debts complicate the picture further, and Pavadai’s alliance—paired with a gun and a double-sum repayment—pushes him to escalate his actions. A tangled pursuit follows as Pavadai’s men close in, and Kunjidhapadam’s files—their degree certificates among them—fall into the wrong hands, exposing his past and tests of loyalty. The pair reconcile their finances and their alliance, choosing to hide out at a familiar house belonging to actors in the Telugu version, a crossroads that deepens their bond.
With renewed urgency, the pair shadow a man linked to Vembuli’s operations, slipping into a restaurant to gather vital intel about Vembuli’s secretive son. The son is hidden aboard a moving airbus, guarded by a web of security, and Kunjidhapadam inches closer to a confrontation that could redefine everything. He reaches the fugitives’ perch, makes a bold appeal to the son, and asks for protection and a place in a future beyond Pavadai’s reach, only to be warned not to confront Vembuli directly again or face lethal consequences.
Their quest to survive pushes them into the orbit of a minister’s house, where the couple is captured and then escapes a pursuing gang. A police officer intervenes, mistakes them for a newly wed couple, and ceremoniously brings them back to the station for a keepable, oddball wedding—an event that oddly cements their growing affection. That night, the two discover a rare, intimate closeness, and the spark between them strengthens their resolve to face what lies ahead.
The next day, the pursuit turns tragic and personal. Kunjidhapadam tracks Vembuli’s son on a small boat near the shore, only to witness the henchmen tossing the boy into the sea. He plunges into the water, retrieves the boy, and discovers that the henchmen have destroyed the degree certificates that symbolize his hard work. One cruel plan surfaces: a demand to send Angel to them for prostitution. Enraged by the betrayal and cruelty, Kunjidhapadam embraces vengeance, killing Vembuli’s son and then wiping out Vembuli’s henchmen by bringing their bodies to the shore and to the targets’ doorstep.
Reunited with Angel, the lovers flee toward a quieter life in Hyderabad, boarding a train that signals the dawn of a more hopeful future. The journey is fraught with scars and hard-won resilience, but the bond between them remains a steady beacon as they move forward, ready to build a life beyond the constant threat of the city’s criminal tides.
